The change in spelling sheds light on the prejudice, discrimination, and institutional barriers black women have faced, but to also show that women are not the extension of men. The X also makes the term inclusive of Sistars with Queer or transgender identities.

The series will be available as a podcast and the reception September 9th will be a listening session of all the lectures in the series. Tea and refreshments will be served at the reception
